the first & third Fridays
of the month

evening features board games, washer toss, an occasional movie, kids
games, refreshments and a couple of hours of fellowship.

So, Why wear a name tag?
When asked to describe Knox the response is "Knox is a Traditional Christian church, friendly and caring, your spiritual home." On that theme we want our visitors to be comfortable, which is one benefit of name tags.
Name tags serve as a modern-day front porch. They're a welcoming invitation
for people to be sociable. It's an icebreaker. It makes people feel
comfortable knowing who you are
With a name tag you are no longer a complete stranger.
It's sort of like an invitation, because it shows someone is open to
meeting others. People recognize that names are profound. It's not just
a name tag. It's a signal they want to be friends.
Bottom line: Wearing a name tag helps others, especially our visitors and new comers who are trying to fit in, feel at home at our church.
Fairfax demographer Anne P. Cahill recently spoke to the Falls Church Community Services Council about the county's diversity, which inspired Knox Elder Nick Snow, the organization's secretary, to write an article that appeared in the Washington Post at the end of July.

Estate Planning: Gifts That Keep Giving
Have you ever wished you could give more money to the church but your current resources and needs won’t allow it? Most of us have a desire to do more in the way of charitable contributions but don’t feel we have the discretionary funds to do so. But giving from our accumulated resources at the end of life is a way to make a significant contribution that keeps on giving. And most of us can leave something to the church, even after we have taken care of loved ones in our will.
In order to help ministry happen through the church for years to
come, we each need a will and an estate plan. Without a will and
an estate plan, the distribution of our personal assets will be
determined by the State of Virginia through probate court. But through
an estate plan, a gift to a Knox Trust Fund will enable ministry
for generations...
