We have an opportunity to assemble school kits for children in disaster areas around the world. Church World Service collects and distributes these kits wherever they are needed. After worship this Sunday, July 2, weather permitting, fellowship time will be moved outside onto the front lawn of the church. We’ll be giving away free hot dogs and watermelon to everyone who stops by. This is one small way we can show God’s love.
Celebrate Men of the Church this Sunday in worship, followed by lunch. The men are bringing barbecue. Please bring a side dish to share. An offering will be taken in worship to support the MidAtlantic Presbyterian Men’s Kenya mission.
On the Day of Pentecost we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit descending in a mighty rush of wind and flame to inspire the church’s proclamation of Christ’s rising and to empower its mission and ministry to the world. We wear red to worship on Pentecost Sunday as a symbol of the flame at the birth of the church.
We will celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
We’ll be handing out free coffee and donuts in front of the church this Sunday, May 28, 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. Come join us in showing God’s love through a small act of kindness. Or just come and have a free cup of coffee.
Everyone is invited to the Community International Dinner Saturday, May 20, 5:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Potluck dinner – please bring a dish to share. Drinks and desserts will be provided by the church. Celebrate our community’s diversity in an evening of food and fun. Wear national dress, if you have it.
Longtime Knox member, Dale Turner passed away May 1. A memorial service will be held at Knox Church Saturday, May 13, at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow in Fellowship Hall.
