Knox’s Session, the principal governing body of the Church, in an effort to communicate more fully with the congregation, has decided to publish the highlights of its meetings in the Newsletter. Full copies of the minutes from previous meetings are available in the church office.

The Session held its monthly meeting on May 21, 2007 in the church library.

•A discussion was held regarding the special “Family Sunday”, on May 20. The Session concurred with the idea of holding such Sundays on a regular basis.

Several people have expressed a desire to join Knox. A new member class will begin in June, with specific dates to be announced.

The last day for children’s “Learning for Life” will be Sunday, June 10. Also, Susi Ennis will be preaching on June 10 while the Hales are attending a family wedding.

Sunday, June 24 will be “Youth Sunday”. We will receive the Confirmation Class into membership that day. The Session will meet the class, for a special breakfast, from 9:15-9:45 a.m. We will also recognize our Christian Education helpers and Knox choir, on June 24.

The Session approved the recommendation to hire someone for “Family and Children’s Ministry”, for July and August, using the presbytery grant money we have received for “transformation”. The part-time director would be responsible for organizing a couple of outreach events for kids and families, over the summer.

On June 3, the Session will host a volunteer fair, which we are calling “First Serve”. It will be held after worship and give the congregation an opportunity to help with a particular ministry need.

The Presbyterian Mens’ group of Knox will lead worship on June 17 and host a barbeque after church.

The next Session meeting will be held June18.

Remember--good ideas are meant to be shared, so please share them, particularly with any member of Session, or the Nomination Committee.
