- ADULT CLASSES - ![]() WHAT IS ALPHA?
The Alpha Course is a ten-week opportunity to explore the validity and relevance of the Christian faith for your life today. It is a practical introduction to the basics of Christianity centered around a meal, a talk and small group discussion. Why are we here? Does my life have any meaning? Is there something more? Alpha -- Exploring the questions of life *If you decide to attend the course our Next Alpha session is Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m.

A class and workshop on the topic of the public reading of Scripture in the worship service is the Learning for Life class after the worship service. It will be based on 1 Timothy 4: 13 which says, "Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching." Included topics are solo reading, reading two by two, family Bible readers, responsive readings, memorized presentations, and developing better listening skills. The class will last about six weeks. We'll have a taped presentation and a time to work creatively on upcoming Scripture readings. Class Leader: Marcia Geelhood + + + WEDNESDAY BIBLE CLASSES Meets at 10 AM in the Parlor. Currently the Bible study series is on "Joshua, Judges, and Ruth", each Wednesday morning for the next several weeks. You are welcome to join us. contact Bill Hale email:wvhale@cox.net or the church office at 703-560-5288 Children and Youth Classes - A preschool/Kindergarten class an Elementary class for those in First to Fifth Grades a Youth Class for those in Sixth Grade and above. In addition to the Learning for Life classes, we also offer our Enrichment Program during worship. Mr. Steve Pida will continue his role as the leader of the Preschool/Kindergarten Enrichment program. He has the able assistance of a rotating team of youth assistants. The Elementary School Program for those in First to Fifth Grades meets most Sundays. These student remain in worship on Communion Sundays as well as other significant worship services during the year. At other times the students go downstairs to activities following the Time for Children. There are still opportunities for you to help the Learning for Life Program. We have openings for teachers in the Preschool/Kindergarten class and in the Elementary class. Additionally, we have openings for those interested in working with Elementary Enrichment as well as back ups for Mr. Steve. Everyone is welcome to attend Learning for Life classes. Elementary School Enrichment: After the Children's Message during the school year, students in Grades 1-5 are excused to go downstairs for their own time of fun Bible Learning. These students do crafts, play games, read Bible passages and do other enriching activities. We do ask that all students remain in the service on Communion Sundays. Nursery: We have a newly renovated Nursery for your infant's comfort. The Nursery is staffed each Sunday with Adults and Youth Group aids. Youth Group: Knox Youth Group is composed of two subgroups. The Middle School Group is for students in grades 6-8, The Senior High Group is for students in grades 9-12. We meet on Sunday evenings at 7:00 PM. The groups plan a great mix of fun, drama, mission work, bible study and application and more fun. + + + |
