Rev. Casey Thompson, Pastor
Casey Thompson has been the pastor of Knox Presbyterian church since September of 2023. He moved to Falls Church in August of 2023 after marrying the Rev. Casey Wait, who is the pastor of John Calvin Presbyterian Church. That's right: Rev. Casey married another Rev. Casey. He’s also pastor of our sister congregation, Idylwood Presbyterian.
Prior to here, Casey was the pastor of Wayne Presbyterian Church where he co-founded The Common Place, an educational outreach center in Southwest Philly. Prior to that, he was the Associate Pastor for Congregational Nurture at Idlewild Presbyterian Church in Memphis, Tennessee.
He adds three kids, William, Megan and Andrew to his two adult children, Willow and Lily. He loves cooking, reading, writing, painting, juggling, and working on Ziggy, his 1971 Super Beetle.
Kathleen Petrey, Preschool Director
Kathleen Petrey received an elementary certification (K-6) from Meredith College and a psychology degree from North Carolina State University. After graduating, she taught in various elementary schools and preschools and most recently taught in Arlington Community Preschool from 2014-2020. Kathleen founded Jumpstart Christian Preschool in the spring of 2020. She believes that pre-k is the most important year of education, and her classroom lessons exhibit that philosophy with her fun and interactive units in art, music and science.
Linda Rice-Johnston, Administrative Assistant
Linda Rice-Johnston is the long-term administrative assistant at Knox Presbyterian Church and Falls Church Community Service Council. She handles all of our communications and calendar and has even recently been on a podcast about the treasures of small churches. A voracious reader, she’ll glad make a recommendation or receive one for her next read.
She is married to Eric and both of them worship with us regularly.
