Strong Readers, Strong Leaders
After-school reading, Mondays and Wednesdays
What it is
An after-school reading program for neighborhood kids, a few steps from home. Kids get help with reading and homework from caring adults. It started as a summer pilot with nine kids and launched this fall. Our goal is 40 students meeting several times a week.
With Comunidad
The program runs in partnership with Comunidad, which built a successful reading program at its first location, the Willston Multicultural Center. On Wednesdays, the session ends just as Kids’ Club begins, and everyone is invited to stay for dinner.
